When you think of the latest farmhouse trends probably envision barn doors, ship lapped wall and antiqued furniture. Now not all of that is out of date, but there's new elements being added.
For instance look at this home by Kingston Homes. You have those lovely barn doors done in a modern shaker style with matte black tracks. Which works beautifully with that stair rail. This is by far one of my favorite homes they have built.
The entry way is so light and airy. Which you may notice as well the nice white walls, nope that is not ship lap, just a lovely white paint.
Wide Planked Floors
This lovely kitchen done by Home Bunch is beautiful. Just look at those gorgeous wide planked wood floors.
Here's a fun little fact, did you know adding large planks in a small room will actually make the room feel bigger? Yup...it really does! So with that being said it's best to use wide planks in your kitchen, it will visually make it feel bigger then it really is.
Right now all the rage is a nice wide plank with lighter wood finishes. You may even see gray toned floors. But if you are going for the "farmhouse" feel you want to stick with a wood tone.
Oh the ever popular white kitchen...my personal favorite. I love white kitchens simply for the fact they are timeless. I'm sure you all have walked into a home and been able to tell exactly when the home was built, just by the kitchen and the cabinet style. Each decade seems to have it's own wood tone.
This kitchen by Studio Mcgee is perfection. Notice the modern pendant lights, they add that modern touch to the room. Along with the modern drawer pulls. Mixing the feel of old with new is always a good idea!
Open wood shelves in a kitchen is a fun way to modernize your home. Styled to perfection. Studio Mcgee brings in the warm wood tones through out this kitchen, keeping it from getting too cold.
Classic Trestle wood table with modern chairs one way to modernize your dining room. I love seeing chairs that do not match the table. Keeping within the black and white color scheme helps tie the whole space together. I'm a little obsessed with this space. Anyone notice that vintage ceiling?
Add some modern light fixtures above your dining table. Changing out lights is a great way to change the feel of the room. There's so many wonderful industrial inspired lights that work well with the farmhouse feel.
Subway tile!! Just look at all of it..this lovely bathroom featured on Bunch Homes and done by A Finer Construction, did a beautiful job. I love the gold accents.
Using subway tile in your bathroom is one way to bring in the modern farmhouse feel. And if you are lucky enough to have a soaker tub, I would go with one like this.
Modern spin on your old claw foot tubs. These new modern soaker tubs are beautifully designed. There's so many styles out there. If you are lucky enough to have space for one, I would go for it. What a focal point!
