I decided to switch things up this year and simplify my decor. I was on the hunt for some fabulous pumpkins, which turned out to be harder than I thought it would be. To be totally honest with you getting ready for fall was not as easy as I had anticipated. The only pumpkins I could find were little white ones or ginormous orange pumpkins. I knew the vision I originally had for my home wasn't going to be reality, so I improvised with local greenery.
Anytime I decorate for the holidays I prefer to use the elements you find in nature. While adding warm, cozy textiles likes flannel, cable knit pillows and warm fuzzy blankets.
It may not seem small but this sitting room is tiny!! It really has been a challenge to decorate and furnish this room. Yes, even us decorators have our struggles. I knew the scaling of the furniture had to be just right in order to make it work. Which took a lot of patience on my part. Almost all of the pieces were found on Craigslist, minus the wing back chair and end table.
I originally asked my husband to grab me the antler sheds he had found while hunting, but that is something we left in our old home back in Montana. So when I found these faux antlers at Pier 1 I was a happy girl. How cool are these?
I decided to keep my dining room very simple, sometimes less is more.
Here's a little tip for you all out there; when making a floral or centerpiece try mixing fake greenery with real berries or foliage. The greenery in the wood tray is fake while the berries are real, who can tell?
Just off our kitchen is this sweet secretary desk. I did not switch this area up too much, just added some natural greenery and a small white pumpkin. Again less is more.
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog. If you would like to know where I purchased some of the items I am more then happy to tell ya, just leave me a comment.
Wishing you a fabulous week!!
