This was a exciting week for my little family, actually I can't say my kids were excited but this momma sure was!! Kids are back in school, back to routine and their crazy schedules. I thought for sure I'd get some items checked off my to do list since they would be out of my hair, but instead it seemed my list kept growing longer.
For some time now my oldest daughter has been bugging me to redo their room, yes my girls share a room. There is a room that was never finished by the previous owner and we currently are in the process of getting that whipped into shape. So in the mean time the girls are stuck with each other.
I have to admit I ran out of steam and wasn't sure what to do with it. These girls are complete opposites when it comes to the style they want for their room. One thing they want is a lot of color, a lot! Now for those of you who know me, that isn't me. I like doing a lot of neutrals with pops of color. I've had some time to stew on their requests and I have to admit I wasn't sure what to do.
Designers will even be stumped at times, if our inspiration dries up, we don't know where to start, or how to finish the projects we are working on. Our minds are easily distracted and we just can not focus on the task at hand. Which explains why I have put off doing their room.
How are you inspired? Are you inspired from nature, art, music or fashion? I was shopping a few weeks back for school clothes and admiring some of the beautiful colors and prints. I was falling in love with the style of the clothes, they were very bohemian. And that is where I got my inspiration! Take a look at some of these images from http://www.ekstrax.com/
Gorgeous right?? I love the colors the prints, the sparkle and most of all the gold! I can not wait to show you some of the pieces I have picked up the past few days. I am excited to show you a tutorial I have been working on to mix and match patterns. Keep on the look out for that in a few days.
I hope you all have wonderful holiday weekend, thanks for stopping by!
Hello! Thank you for visiting my site. My name is Aundra and I have always had a passion for interior design. With much coaxing from family and friends I decided to start this blog in hopes to help inspire others to get that look they desire. I love the challenge of beautiful design on a budget. I am also here to help with design questions.
